Week of 2/25/2024 - Information

I just want to set some realistic expectations here. I am a bit slow. I want to post as much as I can, but I do have a full-time job that sometimes has some big projects I need to focus on.

Another big thing, I recently got some news, I am pregnant. Very early stages at the moment, hoping everything goes well. No, I will not post child-related content, this will not become a family blog, I will only stick to manga, manhwa, and anime.

Because of this, I just want to be upfront I may move slowly on posts or updates. I will try to post somewhat consistently on my TikTok incase you want to see quick reviews.

Thank you for reading!

Week of January 21, 2024

Upcoming releases, to be read manga, and upcoming Spring anime.

This week there are a few new releases, which you can see more information on the Upcoming Releases page.

A few of note is Bocchi the Rock! Vol. 2, Solo Leveling Vol. 8, Who Made Me A Princess Vol. 4., The Boxer Vol. 5, and Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs (Manga) Vol. 9. There is a good bit more, so certainly check them out.

I do have quite a bit of reviews to do, and record videos to upload on my TikTok, as well as write here. So far, I have read the manga Bless, which is releasing an official copy of the first volume fairly soon. This is about two high school characters; one who mostly remains unnoticed but wants to model, and the other who models but dreams of instead being a make-up artist. Then there is Sadako at the End of the World which is part of the film franchise The Ring. I read the first volume of Behind the Scenes, but it is complete with 7 volumes so I may wait to review this one.

I’ve still got more that I need to do, but these are ones I really need to revisit as I read them maybe a month ago at this point. There is 365 Days to the Wedding, which I honestly loved, this one was so good. Virgin Love is the next one, which follows adult characters who are part of a program to try and find love. Finally, I read, mostly on a whim, The Prince is in the Villainess’ Way, which did not at all feel like a villainess story.

Outside of writing these reviews up, I have quite the long list of manga to read. Some are new, released just the previous week, while others have been out for a while. I’ll list them here so you can avoid spoilers if you prefer:

This is a complete series, but it just released Omnibus versions last week. It includes volumes 1 and 2.

I just read the summary of this series, and decided to go ahead and buy it. Outside of the summary below, I know nothing about this manga, but I’m looking forward to reading it.

    Summary:

Eight years have passed since the sickness known as “the Sleep” ended millions of lives. Now, after a dangerous procedure that involves diving into patients' memories has ended the pandemic, Petty Officer Adam Garfield wakes up in a hospital to find an IED has taken one of his legs. But Adam's plan to retire from U.S. Navy service and cash in his pension to goof around with his younger siblings is shattered when he receives secret word that the sleeping sickness has returned, and it's his job to coax back the mysterious man who helped cure it the first time: a man known by the codename “King.” Omnibus edition includes Parts 1 and 2.

Again, this is another series I know nothing about outside of the summary. It really didn’t sound like a story I’d be too interested in, but I wanted to give it a chance.

    Summary:

It is said that a samurai’s spirit rests in their sword—and Konosuke can’t even pick one up thanks to a cruel curse that repels anything made of metal that gets near him. Destitute and hopeless, he decides to end it all. But when a beautiful and mysterious woman saves his life and his soul, it is the beginning of Ryudo’s journey into a strange world of magic that exists a step away from his own.

This is a first for me. I was asked to read and review this new story, and I agreed to do it because I enjoy reading stuff. Still trying to figure out how to do this, as again, I’ve never been asked this. They are not paying me, I am not receiving anything for it. Interesting concept so far, as I did read the first chapter.

    Summary:

A Doubted Martial Artist takes on a near impossible Journey of becoming the strongest by attaining a sacred artifact gifted only to those worthy of bearing it.

I have had this on my to-read list for a while, and I really need to read it. This one is a goal for me, hopefully this week, but if not maybe next week.

    Summary:

All alone after the end of days, two girls ride through the desolate ruins of Japan—but they're not about to let the collapse of civilization get in the way of sightseeing! From the hot springs of Hakone to the massive Tokyo Big Sight, they've got the run of the country's most popular tourist spots all to themselves, so why not make the most of it?

Of course, there is much more than that. Most likely I will get one or two of those done, and then randomly have 5 others read that I didn’t plan on. That’s usually how it goes for me. I’m trying to have a little more direction though.

This week, goals I know I’ll be able to do is upload 2 videos to my TikTok. They are Sadako at the End of the World, as I’ve mentioned above, and one I didn’t mention called Before You Discard Me, I Shall Have My Way With You. Both of these I just need to edit.
